Ian’s Bio and Background
Born and raised in Ireland, Ian always had a passion for making things. From an early age he helped his father make gates and furniture to help the family make a bit of extra cash. While in school he took subjects like wood work, engineering and technical drawing which was where he started refining his making skills. Ian later attended the Dublin Institute of Technology where he received his BSc. in Product Design.
Unfortunately when he left college Ireland’s economy was still in flux, so he left the country and spent some time traveling. It was in 2015 when he moved to London and took up a position as a Software Engineer. For 7 years Ian worked for Lloyds Bank on their trading floor, until the summer of 2021 when he left banking and started his training in Robinson House Studio.
Since completing his training Ian has been working with some of London’s biggest furniture making companies. His work has also be shortlisted for the Young Furniture Maker of the Year award and been featured the Woodworker Magazine.
