Spitfire Lounge Chair Series.

The Spitfire Lounge Chair Series is a limited run series of bespoke lounge chairs. There will be a limited number of 10 chairs in total made in this series.

The chair’s design is inspired by the Supermarine Spitfire which was one of the main fighter aircraft used to defend Britain during WW2. Leaning on this inspiration, each chair is designated with the specific variant of Spitfire that the chair takes inspiration from.

Chair Variants in the Series.

Currently there is 3 variants (Mark, or Mk.) of the chair:

• Mk. V - The original Prototype of the chair, made from English sweet chestnut with a natural paper cord weave.

• Mk. Vb - Chair No. 1 & No. 2. Made from fumed English oak and a natural cord weave.

• Mk. Ia - Chair No. 3. Made from ebonised and inked English oak frame, with an English sweet chestnut backrest and a natural paper cord weave.

Purchasing a chair.

Normally each chair is handmade to order, or in some cases the chairs have been made speculatively by Ian. This is usually the case for when a new variant is made in the series. As each chair is made to order the price is provided at the time of commission.
